Avi Haimowitz
Avi Haimowitz has been with Deaf Overcoming Violence through Empowerment (DOVE) since early 2011, starting out as Outreach Coordinator and currently serving in the role of Program Director. She supervises DOVE staff and oversees all of DOVE's programs and services, including the Advocacy program, Youth Advocacy & Prevention (YAP), Community Education & Outreach, and Technical Assistance & Training. Avi provides advocacy and individual support to Deaf, DeafBlind, DeafDisabled, and Hard of Hearing (DDBDDHH) community members who experience violence, and facilitates trainings and collaboration opportunities with service providers and sister agencies around the state of Colorado. A Licensed Social Worker, Avi graduated from Gallaudet University with her MSW in 2010.
