Carroll Watkins-Ali

Dr. Carroll A. Watkins Ali (AKA Sadikia Ali) received her Ph. D in Theology and Religious Studies from the University of Denver and Iliff School of Theology. Her academic training is specific to the field of pastoral theology and care and psychological studies. She has gained recognition in publication and research and is the author of a widely used text entitled Survival and Liberation: Pastoral Theology in African American Context (Chalice Press), which introduces a contextual paradigm for pastoral theology and care through the lens of the African American context. Dr. Watkins Ali lectures and teaches throughout the country, often including lectures on Islam. Formerly the Training Coordinator for the Victim Services 2000 project, which was integral to the development and implementation of the Victim Services Network (VSN), Dr. Watkins Ali currently serves as the Interim Director for Muslim Family Services of Colorado. Dr. Watkins Ali is also and founder/President of Watkins Ali & Associates, LLC, a marketing, management development, training and technical assistance firm which specializes in culture-based approaches. She also maintains a small private practice in pastoral psychotherapy. Dr. Watkins Ali is the wife of Imam Abdur-Rahim Ali, the resident Imam of Northeast Denver Islamic Center/Masjid Taqwa.
