The Law Enforcement Immigrant Advisory Model for Community Trust Building
The Eagle County Law Enforcement Immigrant Advisory Committee was formed with the
goals of building mutual trust, communication and understanding between all local law
enforcement and the area’s large immigrant community. In its five year history, this program
has been successful in increasing the reporting of crime and decreasing both arrests and crime
victimization in the Immigrant Community. This workshop will focus on this successful model
and how it has been replicated in other communities.
