Martha Hawkinson
Co-Presenter

Martha joined MESA as the Bilingual Case Manager in October 2015. In her role, Martha aids clients in locating and utilizing community resources, offers in-person legal advocacy, and provides accompaniment through the criminal and civil justice system. Moving from the beautiful (but chilly) state of Minnesota has afforded her the humbling opportunity to serve MESA’s clients, celebrating diversity while working to eradicate the epidemic of sexual assault. She received her BA and BS in Spanish and Psychology from Loyola University Chicago, spending her time and talent as an advocate for under-served monolingual Spanish-speakers seeking legal guidance, emergency lifeline resources, and policy change. Her work at MESA is founded upon the sincere belief “that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” –Margaret Mead
