Self-empowerment
Join Bridgett from Rocky Mountain Self Defense as she takes you through self-empowerment and “in the moment” anti-violence tactics. Traditional self-defense courses primarily focus on physical defense strategies to be used in an instance of stranger assault, but most of the people we work with are not harmed by strangers. Bridgett will model how DV/SA advocates can partner with local self-defense companies in a way that works WITH our values and realities and give a sampling of the kinds of self-empowerment techniques that might work well with victims of DV/SA who have a variety of safety considerations. Wear comfortable clothes.
