Why Sexual Assault Response Teams Make Sense

Join us to learn about the importance of a multidisciplinary team approach for sexual assault and the benefits of establishing Sexual Assault Response Teams in your communities. All too often, criminal justice and advocacy agencies work in silos disconnected from one another; we sometimes struggle to find common ground even when we have shared goals. This approach is neither effective nor efficient and ultimately hinders our collective capacity to support victims and hold offenders accountable. This workshop will share tips and tools for working more cohesively together as a SART and is particularly focused on communities wishing to begin a SART or those who are newly established. We welcome SART members and coordinators at all levels however. There is much collective wisdom about SARTs across the state that will be helpful to all. The session will include presentation, small and large group discussion.
