24 hour Crisis Hot-line: How to Prepare Your Volunteers

This workshop is designed to help agencies with a volunteer based 24 hour crisis hotline looking to create/revamp a training course for confidential advocates. This session is devoted to the idea of providing a well-rounded/holistic training while balancing time constraints, intersectionality/barriers to service, varied learning levels, and practitioner schedules. We will use Colorado State University’s 41 years of hotline service as an example for training volunteers around relationship violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
