Survivors of violent crimes often have remedies in both the criminal and civil systems. However, navigating both systems can often be confusing and overwhelming. Attendees will leave with knowledge about the criminal and civil systems, their differences and similarities; as well as practical tools to help survivors understand common pathways, pitfalls, and strategies for empowering victims to navigate both systems, including how and if a victim can file a civil law suit.
