Understanding and Applying the Colorado Victim Rights Amendment

The criminal justice system can feel overwhelming and unwelcoming to survivors of interpersonal violence. Many survivors and advocates do not know or understand how the rights afforded to them under the Victim Rights Amendment (VRA). This session will provide an overview of Colorado’s VRA and discuss why advocates should be familiar with the rights afforded to victims and give practical tips on how to help survivors navigate these rights throughout the criminal justice system.
