Understanding Dynamics of Intimate Partner Violence in the LGBTQIA+ Community

Both historically and currently, LGBTQIA+ survivors have experienced uniquely challenging barriers in accessing adequate, inclusive services. This workshop invites participants into an in-depth exploration of the complexity of these barriers and a rich examination of the roots of intimate partner violence. Through developing an understanding of how privilege and oppression impact both relationship dynamics and access to resources, service providers are better equipped to navigate the work of building authentically inclusive services
